Useful brain hack that everyone should know!!

The most famous tip for getting motivated is to simply visualize your success. But research has found that, If you imagine yourself instantly successful, it will actually sap your  motivation  to go out and achieve your goals. A better strategy would be to visualize yourself completing the steps it will take to reach your goals. So, if you’re trying to lose weight, instead of visualizing about your perfect body, visualize about eating healthy & doing workout [1]. Incentivizing things that are already enjoyable and rewarding can decrease your motivation. The Research published in 2018 suggests that, when people are given extrinsic  rewards  for tasks that they already find intrinsically motivating, then they will become less interested in the task in the future [2]. The Parkinson’s Law (your work always expands to fill the available time for its completion) works because it creates a false sense of  urgency  and gives a tangible starting point and...

To Overcome Laziness & Procrastination in-order to have good consistency

Image
To be clear,  laziness is not the same as procrastination . Procrastination hides beneath it a bigger problem. That’s why it’s important to get to the bottom of WHY we procrastinate. What are some possible answers? We procrastinate because… …  We are used to being a straight A student , but we start taking a class that’s very difficult. …  We feel dread to start studying for an exam  because it seems like it will take hours, days, even weeks. …  We want to avoid having an unpleasant conversation  with someone, so there’s no point in initiating it. …  We’re not managing our budget properly  so we ignore the electricity bill and it keeps piling up for months. …  Our to-do list seems endless and we feel overwhelmed  by all of the tasks we want to complete. Ok, now it’s your turn. Take a pause from reading this answer. You’ll need a few minutes to do this exercise. Get a notebook or notepad, or open up a blank document on your laptop....

Shawshank Redemption is a highly misunderstood film, at least by some. Let me explain. Meet Andy Dufresne. He gets convicted for a double murder, which he didn't commit, and lands in prison for a lifetime. He stays in prison for 19 years. Right from his initial days, he slowly starts digging a tunnel in his prison cell to escape. After 19 years, he becomes a free bird. The movie is not about this. It's about something else. When Andy comes to prison, he loses his reputation, family, job and above all his freedom. That's sufficient for a person to lose his mind and feel hate towards the world. But this guy was different. This movie is all about how he spends those 19 years in prison. He keeps his calm. He makes friends. He enjoys good moments. He creates some good moments. He writes a letter every week for 6 years to build a library inside the prison. Above all, he lives a happy life for 19 years with all his difficulties, problems and hurdles intact. He does all these thi...

Short answer: YES! Most people would stop reading right there. But, if you’re truly determined and want the  sure-fire steps  to meet your goals then keep reading! Okay, glad that you decided to keep reading! That already shows you have the willpower and determination. Now, have you heard of Napoleon Hill? He interviewed 500 of the richest men Analyzed their successes down to 13 principles And presented his findings in a book titled Think and Grow Rich aka “Granddaddy of all Motivational Literature” Even today, 80 years after its first publication, it’s still the #1 bestseller in budgeting and money management on Amazon. Forbes  also published an article on Hill's work by Dr. Grace Lee in January, which explains the science behind Hill’s findings and why it works. This shows how relevant Hill’s work still is today.
